During registration, you will be given a 12-word Secret Recovery Phrase (also called a Seed Phrase) consisting of some randomly-generated words. You can write your Secret Recovery Phrase down on a piece of paper or a flash drive. Optionally, MetaMask allows you to download a file containing the phrase. Always keep your phrase safe and never share it with anyone.
